  • Greetings from Upcountry Maui! I’m Tony Barwick — the founder of 'Iwa Maui and a visionary in environmental services with a journey as diverse and vibrant as the landscapes we strive to preserve.

Originally hailing from the breathtaking shores of Cape Town, South Africa, my passions for nature and community have led me on a remarkable path. I co-founded a nonprofit called Yebo Life with my wife, Julie, early on in our marriage. Yebo Life instilled in me the importance of giving back and creating positive change, and it continues to fuel my desire to be apart of something greater than myself, which sets the tone for 'Iwa Maui.

In a previous life beneath the waves, I navigated the depths as a commercial diamond diver, embracing the challenge and solitude of the ocean. This unique experience cultivated in me a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of life and sparked my commitment to environmental stewardship.

Transitioning to the world of tourism, I became a certified tour guide, sharing the wonders of South Africa's landscapes and fostering a love for travel. It was during these journeys that I discovered my calling of merging environmental awareness with community engagement.

After immigrating to the states, I worked in tech sales and real estate investing — both of which taught me important lessons in strategic thinking, honest business, and hard work. Recognizing the need for responsible land care and green waste solutions on Maui, I created 'Iwa Maui to help contribute to the well-being of this beautiful island.

I envision a place where humans and nature can seamlessly co-exist. Through ‘Iwa Maui’s services, we not only care for the land but also perpetuate a narrative of environmental sustainability. Join us on this eco-adventure as we transform outdoor spaces, one green step at a time.
